Glencoe42: Behind the Scenes

At Glencoe42, we like to keep things personal, because at the heart of our business is, well, family. We’re a father-daughter team from southern Germany:

Peter and Laura, working side by side to bring digital projects to life.

Peter comes from an engineering background, with a degree in electrical engineering and many years of experience in the automotive sector at BMW. Over time, he became an expert not just in technical development but also in process and quality management. His detail-oriented approach and love for well-functioning systems are key to how we run things today.

Laura, on the other hand, has a background in business and marketing. She studied business administration with a focus on marketing management and worked in the marketing department of a fintech start-up before moving to North America.

She’s all about design, and helping brands find their voice and stand out.

Together, we combine technical know-how with creative energy, a mix that works pretty well!

People often ask us where the name Glencoe42 comes from. Here’s the short version: On a trip to Scotland, we fell in love with the landscape and the Scottish glen “Glencoe.” And the number 42? It’s a little nerdy reference to The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, known as the “answer to life, the universe, and everything."

We’re passionate about helping businesses with digital solutions that make sense,  websites, apps, online strategies, and branding that work smoothly and feel right. We believe good design, clear communication, and solid processes can go a long way.

We also just really enjoy working together as a family, bringing our different strengths to the table, sharing ideas, and learning as we go. And of course, we can’t forget Taco, our chihuahua and official Security Manager, who keeps a close watch over the office and always brings us his toys (so he’s technically part of the team too).
